Our Approach

Our attorneys practice exclusively in the area of U.S. Immigration Law.  We are committed to assisting immigrants from all parts of the world.  Our office provides a safe, friendly atmosphere for immigrants and their families to confidentially discuss their immigration situation and the best path for their future in this country.  We also serve U.S. businesses in their efforts to legally hire employees from all over the world.

The firm was originally founded in 1999 by Corrine Nikolenko.  Diane M. Mahoney joined in 2000, and Erica L. Tomlinson joined in 2003.  Since 2005, the firm has been headed by Diane M. Mahoney and Erica L. Tomlinson, and currently includes an associate attorney and three support staff.  We have two staff members and one attorney who are bilingual in Spanish and English.

Most of our clients are referred to us by their friends and colleagues who are former clients and were very satisfied with Mahoney & Tomlinson’s services.  Our attorneys also volunteer to represent low-income immigrants seeking asylum and to mentor other volunteer attorneys through the Lawyer’s Committee Pro Bono Asylum Project.  We also volunteer to serve as pro bono counsel with the Immigration Court on a regular basis.  The attorneys have frequently spoken at various Immigration Forums throughout Northern California sponsored by communities, churches, and non-profit agencies and institutions, such as the Catholic Diocese, the University of California Davis School of Law, California Rural Legal Assistance Foundation, the Immigrant Legal Resource Center and Opening Doors.

Our attorneys are active members of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
